Friday, 31 July 2026 — here's my quick morning read on where gold and silver stand today, in plain language for anyone buying for a wedding or the family locker.
In short (31 July 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,43,000/10g and 22K around ₹1,31,000/10g; silver is about ₹2,35,000/kg. Both eased a little today as investors booked profit near record highs and the US dollar firmed up — so the tone is firm-but-cooler after a strong run. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.
Today's rates at a glance

- 22K gold: around ₹1,31,000 per 10g (indicative)

Please treat these as indicative reference levels only. The only rate that actually bills your jewellery is AT Jewels' live counter/board rate at the moment of purchase — you can confirm it in store or on WhatsApp.
What is moving the market this week
Both metals have had a very strong run — silver pushed into record territory and gold has been sitting close to its all-time high — so today's small dip is mostly investors taking some profit off the table rather than a change in direction. The US dollar also steadied after a sharp fall the day before, and when the dollar firms up, gold priced in dollars tends to ease a touch. With the rupee near ₹95 to the dollar, that global move flows straight through to our domestic rates.
Underneath that, the bigger supports are still in place: markets are leaning towards the US Fed easing rates later this year, and simmering Middle East tensions keep a steady safe-haven bid under both metals. That's the tug-of-war right now — record-high fatigue and a firmer dollar on one side, rate-cut hopes and geopolitics on the other.
The near-term view
My honest read is sideways-to-firm from here, with the odd pullback like today's after such a big move. For 24K I'd mentally pencil a rough ₹1,40,000–1,46,000/10g band for the near term, but nobody can promise where it lands. If you're buying for a wedding or a festival date, the sensible thing is to buy by your need and your date, not by trying to time the bottom — split a larger purchase into parts if it helps, and don't chase a green day. This is just my market read, not trading advice.
Frequently asked
What is the gold rate today in India?
Today 24K gold is around ₹1,43,000/10g and 22K around ₹1,31,000/10g (indicative). Your final price will also depend on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of billing.
What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about ₹2,35,000 per kg today (indicative).
Will gold prices go up or down this week?
After a big run to record-high levels, gold eased slightly today on profit-taking and a firmer dollar, while rate-cut hopes and Middle-East tensions keep support underneath — so a firm, sideways-with-dips week looks most likely. That's a read of today's drivers, not a certainty about the future.
