Gold (24K)
→ Sideways
Steadying after a sharp two-session drop. Global gold is soft on high US bond yields, but the rupee near record lows is cushioning India prices. Balanced ahead of tonight's key US inflation data.
Confidence: ●●●●● Low
Silver
→ Sideways
Parked at multi-week lows after a heavy fall. A firm dollar and high US yields keep a lid on it, while deeply oversold levels could bounce. We stay cautious into tonight's US data.

Good morning — here’s where gold and silver stand this morning, 30 September 2026, and what I’m watching.

In short (30 September 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,48,500/10g and 22K around ₹1,36,100/10g; silver is about ₹2,29,000/kg. Both have steadied after a sharp two-session drop — high US bond yields and a firm dollar are the drag, while a record-low rupee is cushioning India prices; the read is broadly sideways ahead of tonight’s key US inflation data. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels’ live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week

The big story is still US interest rates. American government bond yields are sitting near their highest in about two decades and the US dollar is firm, and when the dollar and yields are strong, gold and silver usually feel the pressure — that is exactly what triggered the sharp fall over the last two sessions. Silver, which always swings harder than gold, took the bigger knock and is now parked at multi-week lows.

Closer to home, the rupee is hovering near record-low territory around 96 to the dollar, with the RBI stepping in to steady it. A weaker rupee quietly softens the fall in Indian gold prices even when global gold is sliding, which is why our local rates have held up better than the international chart. The real swing factor today is a key US inflation reading due this evening — markets are largely waiting for it before committing to a direction.

The near-term view

My honest read this morning is sideways for both metals. Gold has bounced off its recent low and is trying to steady; silver is trying to hold its floor after a heavy fall. Neither has a clear direction until tonight’s US data is out of the way, so I’d expect choppy, range-bound trade rather than a big move in either direction today.

If you’re buying for a wedding or a festival, my advice is the same as always: buy by your need and your date, and buy in parts rather than trying to time the perfect day. Don’t chase a green morning and don’t panic on a red one — a steady, staggered approach almost always serves families better than waiting for a bottom that no one can call. This is not trading advice, just a plain read for buyers.

Frequently asked

What is the gold rate today in India?
24K gold is around ₹1,48,500/10g and 22K around ₹1,36,100/10g today (indicative). The final price you pay depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels’ live counter rate at the time of billing.

What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about ₹2,29,000/kg (indicative) today.

Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The near-term read is broadly sideways: high US yields and a firm dollar are pressing prices down, while a record-low rupee is cushioning India rates, and a key US inflation print tonight could tip the balance either way. No one can be certain about the future — buy by your need and date rather than trying to time it.
