Good morning — here's your gold & silver note for Monday, 14 September 2026.
In short (14 September 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,53,800/10g and 22K around ₹1,41,000/10g; silver is about ₹2,44,900/kg. Gold has slipped for a third straight week as firmer oil and a likely US rate rise this week weigh on it, while silver is steadying after last week's sharp drop — the near-term read is softer for gold and broadly sideways for silver into the US Fed meeting. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week
Two things are pressing on gold right now. First, the US Federal Reserve meets on Tuesday and Wednesday (15–16 September), and the market is leaning heavily towards another rate rise — higher interest rates make non-yielding gold a little less attractive, so prices have drifted lower for a third week in a row. Second, firmer crude oil and a steady-to-strong US dollar have kept a lid on any bounce.
The rupee has held fairly steady near the mid-95s to the dollar, which has cushioned the fall in local prices a bit. The real event to watch is Wednesday's Fed statement and the guidance that comes with it — that, more than the rate decision itself, is likely to set the tone for the rest of the week.
The near-term view
For gold, the tone is gently softer — I'd expect it to drift and stay below recent highs in the near term, likely holding a broad band rather than falling sharply, unless the Fed surprises. Silver looks more sideways and choppy after last week's big move, so I'm staying cautious there. If you're buying for a wedding or a festival, the sensible thing is to buy by your need and your date, in parts, rather than trying to time a green or red day. This is a plain read for buyers, not a trading call, and no one can be certain which way prices go from here.

24K gold is around ₹1,53,800 per 10g and 22K around ₹1,41,000 per 10g today (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of purchase.

Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The near-term tone is a touch softer, with a likely US Fed rate rise and firmer oil weighing on gold, but Wednesday's Fed guidance could swing it either way — so there's no certainty about the days ahead.
