Good morning — here is where gold and silver stand on 14 August 2026.
In short (14 August 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,52,500/10g and 22K around ₹1,39,800/10g; silver is about ₹2,32,000/kg. Both eased off their recent highs as traders booked profits after a soft US inflation reading — a steadier, slightly softer tone today, with the bigger uptrend still intact. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week
The big story this week was US inflation. July's producer-price data came in soft — headline wholesale prices were flat on the month and the core reading rose just 0.2% — which points to cooling price pressure and keeps the door open for the US Federal Reserve to ease later in the year. On its own that is supportive for gold.
But after a strong run — gold is up close to 10% over the past month and had pushed to a two-month high — traders used the calmer inflation picture to book profits. That pulled spot gold back below the $4,400 mark and knocked about 1% off gold and around 2% off silver from yesterday's levels. The rupee has stayed steady near 95.4 to the dollar, so most of the move is coming from the international price rather than the currency. A tense backdrop around the Strait of Hormuz remains in the wings as a possible support if it flares up again.
The near-term view
For families buying for a wedding or festival, the picture is a steadier, slightly softer one after a hot stretch. Gold looks likely to trade sideways to mildly easier in the near term, roughly holding its recent band, with the longer uptrend still in place; silver is firmer underneath but swings hard from day to day. My honest suggestion stays the same: buy to your actual need and date, spread the purchase into parts rather than one lump, and don't feel you have to chase a single green (or red) day. Days like today, where prices come off the top, are exactly why buying in stages works in your favour.
Frequently asked

24K gold is around ₹1,52,500/10g and 22K around ₹1,39,800/10g (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of billing.

Will gold prices go up or down this week?
After a soft US inflation print, cooling inflation is broadly supportive for gold, but prices have just eased on profit-taking off two-month highs. The likeliest near-term path is sideways to slightly softer, with the medium-term trend still up — no one can promise a direction, so buy to your need rather than to a forecast.
