Good morning — Nitin here from AT Jewels. Here's your quick gold and silver update for Tuesday, 11 August 2026. Both metals walked in firm today: gold is sitting at a two-month high and silver at a seven-week high. So if you've been watching prices ahead of a wedding or festival purchase, this is a “trend still up” kind of morning.
Today's rates — 11 August 2026
| Gold 24K (per 10g) | ₹1,55,000 (approx) |
| Gold 22K (per 10g) | ₹1,42,200 (approx) |
| Silver (per kg) | ₹2,55,000 (approx) |
Indicative retail levels for general reference across India; your final billing is always AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of purchase, plus making and GST. International reference this morning: spot gold about $4,400/oz, spot silver about $66/oz.
What's moving prices
A few things are lining up on the same side today. Softer US jobs data has raised the odds that the US Federal Reserve trims interest rates soon — and when rates look likely to fall, gold and silver usually get a lift because they compete better against money kept in the bank. On top of that, central banks (China among them) have kept adding gold to their reserves, and lingering geopolitical uncertainty is keeping safe-haven demand warm. Silver has an extra tailwind of its own: strong industrial demand from solar panels and power-grid build-out. The one thing that could slow the move is a sudden bounce in the US dollar, which tends to cap quick spikes.
My near-term view
I'm reading both metals as firm for now. Gold's trend looks the steadier of the two — it's making fresh highs on a clear set of supports. Silver is firm as well, but it tends to move in bigger jumps in both directions, so don't be surprised by a sharper pullback there even while the broader direction stays up. As always, this is a plain directional read to help you plan a purchase, not a trading buy or sell call.
Quick questions I get asked
Is today a good day to buy? If you have a wedding or festival date coming up, the sensible approach is to buy by your need and timeline, and to split a larger purchase into parts rather than trying to catch the exact bottom. Prices are firm, not cheap, today.
Why is silver moving more than gold? Silver is a smaller and more industrial market, so the same piece of news tends to push it further in both directions.
What rate will I actually pay? The figures above are indicative for general reference. Your bill is set by AT Jewels' live counter rate at the moment of purchase, plus making charges and GST.
That's the picture for this morning. Whether you're buying now or just keeping an eye on rates, I'll be back tomorrow with a fresh update.
Warm regards,
Nitin Bardia
