Good morning β here's where gold and silver stand this Monday, 07 September 2026.
In short (07 September 2026): 24K gold is around βΉ1,54,790/10g and 22K around βΉ1,41,890/10g; silver is about βΉ2,49,900/kg. Global prices eased just under $4,400 after Friday's strong US jobs report firmed the dollar, and with US markets closed for a holiday today the tone is quiet and sideways. These are indicative India reference levels β AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week
Friday's US jobs report came in much stronger than expected β payrolls rose about 162,000 against forecasts near 56,000. A strong labour market pushes the US Federal Reserve towards keeping rates higher, which lifts the dollar and takes some shine off gold. On the back of it, global gold slipped from around $4,420 to just under $4,400 an ounce, and silver cooled too.
Two things are cushioning the fall. Weekend tensions between the US and Iran over tanker attacks have kept a safe-haven bid under gold, and here at home a firmer rupee (near 94 to the dollar) softens the impact of the global dip on our India prices. US markets are shut today for a holiday, so trade is thin β the real test comes later this week with US inflation (CPI and PPI) numbers and the Fed's meeting on 15β16 September.
The near-term view
My read for the next day or two is broadly sideways, with a mild soft edge on both metals. Gold looks range-bound around the $4,400 mark until this week's US inflation data gives the next cue; silver tends to swing more, so I'd treat any sharp move there with caution. For families buying for a wedding or a festival, the sensible approach doesn't change: buy by your need and your date, split the purchase into parts rather than trying to time a single day, and don't chase a green morning or panic on a red one. This is a plain directional read, not a trading tip.
Frequently asked
What is the gold rate today in India?
Today 24K gold is around βΉ1,54,790 per 10g and 22K around βΉ1,41,890 per 10g (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of billing.
What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about βΉ2,49,900 per kg (indicative) today.
Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The tone is sideways to slightly soft after a strong US jobs report firmed the dollar, though safe-haven demand is providing a floor. This week's US inflation data is the key swing factor β nobody can promise which way it lands, so buy by your need rather than a forecast.
