Good morning — here's your AT Jewels gold & silver note for Tuesday, 05 August 2026.
In short (05 August 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,43,000/10g and 22K around ₹1,31,100/10g; silver is about ₹2,21,400/kg. Gold is holding firm above ₹1.43 lakh and silver has jumped as Fed rate-cut hopes and Middle East tensions pull buyers toward safe havens — the near-term tone is firm to slightly higher. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week
Two things are doing most of the work right now. First, the market is leaning towards the US Federal Reserve easing rates — when money is expected to get cheaper, gold and silver usually catch a bid, and that is exactly what we are seeing. Second, fresh tension in the Middle East (the US-Iran situation) has nudged investors back towards safe-haven metals, while a softer dollar makes gold a little cheaper in global terms.
Silver has been the livelier of the two, snapping up more than 2% in a single session on the same rate-cut and safe-haven story, helped by its industrial demand. Gold is steadier — firm, holding above ₹1.43 lakh, but without the sharp swings silver has shown.
The near-term view
For the next few sessions I read gold as sideways-to-firm — comfortable around the ₹1.42–1.45 lakh zone, with dips being bought rather than a clear run higher. Silver looks firm but choppy; it can move fast in both directions, so don't be surprised by a swing either way. For families buying for a wedding or festival, the sensible approach stays the same: buy by your need and your date, split the purchase into parts, and don't chase a single green day. This is a directional read for planning, not a trading tip.

Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The near-term tone is firm to slightly higher while Fed rate-cut hopes and Middle East tensions support prices — but nobody can be certain about the future, and a stronger dollar or calmer headlines could cool things. Treat it as a lean, not a guarantee.
