Good morning — here's where gold and silver stand this Tuesday, 04 August 2026, along with what's nudging the market and a plain read for anyone buying for a wedding or festival.
In short (04 August 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,41,800/10g and 22K around ₹1,30,000/10g; silver is about ₹2,16,500/kg. A firm US dollar after the latest Fed meeting is capping gold just below its record highs, while silver is drifting sideways with sharper swings — the near-term read is steady-to-firm for gold and choppy for silver. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week
Gold is sitting just under its record highs. The US dollar firmed up to around a one-month peak after the Federal Reserve's latest meeting, and a stronger dollar usually makes gold a little more expensive worldwide, which caps the upside for now. Even so, the dips have been shallow — central-bank buying and a cautious global mood keep a floor under prices, so gold isn't really falling, just pausing.
Silver is the more restless of the two. After a big run last winter and a sharp correction since, it's now settling in a choppy band around ₹2.16 lakh a kilo. It tends to follow gold but with bigger swings in both directions, so a quiet day for gold can still be a bumpy one for silver. For the rupee, a firm dollar keeps USD/INR on the stronger side, which gently supports local prices.
The near-term view
For gold, my plain read over the next few sessions is steady-to-firm — likely holding in a band roughly around ₹1,40,000–1,43,000 per 10g unless the dollar moves sharply. Silver looks sideways and choppy, so I'd expect swings around the current ₹2.16 lakh/kg level rather than a clean trend.
If you're buying for a wedding or a festival with a fixed date, buy by your need and your date — not by trying to catch the lowest tick. Splitting your purchase into parts over a few visits smooths out the day-to-day noise far better than waiting for one perfect green day that may never come.
