Good morning — here’s your gold and silver rate note for 03 September 2026, with a plain read on where things are heading and what it means if you’re buying for a wedding or festival.

In short (03 September 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,52,010/10g and 22K around ₹1,39,340/10g; silver is about ₹2,44,900/kg. Global prices have steadied and pushed back above $4,400/oz as the US dollar and bond yields eased, though a firmer rupee is keeping India rates in check — the tone is broadly sideways-to-steady ahead of Friday’s big US jobs report. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels’ live counter rate is the billing price.

What is moving the market this week

The big story is Friday’s US jobs report (the monthly non-farm payrolls). It’s the number the US Federal Reserve leans on when it decides interest rates later in September, and right now the market is split — a stronger-than-expected reading pushes rates and the dollar up (a headwind for gold), while a weak one does the opposite. That tug-of-war is why prices have been choppy all week.

Into this morning, the dollar and US bond yields have eased a little, which has helped global gold recover back above the $4,400 an ounce mark after a soft start to the month. At the same time our rupee has firmed up (closer to 94.4 to the dollar from about 95), and a stronger rupee gently pulls India prices down — so the two forces are roughly cancelling out, leaving local rates steady. Silver bounced on the global side but India levels are barely changed. Zooming out, gold is down about 4% from last week’s highs and silver a couple of percent — a healthy breather after August’s record run, not a change of trend.

The near-term view

My honest read: sideways-to-steady for the next day or two, with Friday’s jobs data the swing factor that could nudge prices either way. Nobody can tell you the future — so if you have a wedding or festival purchase coming up, buy by your need and your date, and split it into a couple of parts rather than trying to time a single perfect day. Don’t chase a green morning, and don’t panic on a red one; over a buying season these daily wiggles are small. If you tell us your date and budget, we’ll happily help you plan the timing.

Frequently asked

What is the gold rate today in India?
24K gold is around ₹1,52,010/10g and 22K around ₹1,39,340/10g (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels’ live counter rate at the moment of billing.

What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about ₹2,44,900/kg (indicative) today.

Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The tone is broadly sideways-to-steady, with Friday’s US jobs report the main thing that could move it — a weak number tends to lift gold, a strong one tends to cool it. There’s no certainty about the future, so plan your buying around your own need and date rather than a forecast.
