Good morning — here's your AT Jewels gold & silver note for 01 September 2026.
In short (01 September 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,56,760/10g and 22K around ₹1,43,690/10g; silver is about ₹2,42,000/kg (retail silver quotes vary a fair bit by dealer today). A firmer US rate outlook is capping gold while Middle-East tension keeps a floor under it, so both metals look broadly sideways this morning. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.
Today's rates at a glance
- 24K gold: about ₹1,56,760 per 10g (indicative)
- 22K gold: about ₹1,43,690 per 10g (indicative)
- Silver: about ₹2,42,000 per kg (indicative; dealer quotes range wider today)
These are indicative reference levels only. The one rate that actually bills your purchase is AT Jewels' live counter/board rate at the time of buying — in store or on WhatsApp.
What is moving the market this week
Two forces are pulling in opposite directions. On one side, the US rate picture has turned firmer — after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's hawkish tone at Jackson Hole, markets now put the odds of a September rate hike at roughly two-in-three. Higher rates and a firm dollar are a headwind for gold, which pays no interest, and that has kept a lid on prices.
On the other side, fresh Middle-East tension — renewed US–Iran friction around the Strait of Hormuz, with oil ticking up — is keeping a safe-haven floor under gold. The result is a tug-of-war: gold has held its ground near recent levels rather than breaking sharply either way. The rupee near 95 to the dollar is also part of the India price. The next big signpost is Friday's US jobs report.
The near-term view
For now the honest read is sideways for both gold and silver — gold caught between a firmer rate outlook and geopolitical support, and silver steady but jumpy after last week's dip. There's no clear one-way signal this morning, so this isn't a day to chase.
If you're buying for a wedding or a festival, the sensible approach doesn't change: buy by your need and your date, and split a larger purchase into parts rather than trying to time a single perfect day. A quiet, range-bound market like today's is a fine time to buy what you actually need. This is guidance for planning your purchase, not a trading call.
Frequently asked
What is the gold rate today in India?
24K gold is around ₹1,56,760 per 10g and 22K around ₹1,43,690 per 10g (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of billing.
What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about ₹2,42,000 per kg (indicative) today; retail quotes vary meaningfully between dealers and cities, so treat it as a reference and confirm the live counter rate.
Will gold prices go up or down this week?
No one can say for certain. Right now a firmer US rate outlook is capping gold while Middle-East tension supports it, leaving prices broadly sideways. Friday's US jobs data could tip the balance either way.
