Good morning — here's where gold and silver stand this Friday, 01 August 2026, as we head into a Fed-heavy week.
In short (01 August 2026): 24K gold is around ₹1,44,600/10g and 22K around ₹1,32,550/10g; silver is about ₹2,35,000/kg. Prices are holding near record highs but easing off intraday highs as the US dollar firms and traders book profit ahead of the Federal Reserve — a broadly sideways read for now. These are indicative India reference levels — AT Jewels' live counter rate is the billing price.
Today's rates at a glance

These are indicative reference levels for India. The only billing rate is AT Jewels' live counter/board rate at the time of purchase — in store or on WhatsApp.
What is moving the market this week
The single biggest factor right now is the US Federal Reserve. Spot gold is trading near $4,028 an ounce after bouncing off the $4,000 mark, and the market is holding its breath for the Fed's rate decision and the tone from the new chair. A firmer US dollar and some profit-taking after gold's strong run have taken a little steam out of prices at the top.
Working the other way, tension in the Middle East and steady central-bank buying continue to give gold a floor, so dips have been shallow. For us in India there is a second lever — the rupee, hovering near ₹95.4 to the dollar. Because we import our gold, a weaker rupee keeps domestic prices firm even on days when the global chart softens.
The near-term view
My honest read for the next few sessions is sideways to firm on gold and range-bound on silver. Prices are close to record levels, the dollar is capping the upside, and the Fed could swing sentiment either way — but the geopolitical and central-bank support underneath means I wouldn't bet on a sharp fall either. If you're buying for a wedding or a festival, buy by your need and your date, and split a larger purchase into parts rather than trying to time a single perfect day. Chasing a green candle rarely helps a family buyer; a steady, planned approach does. This is a directional view for planning, not a trading tip, and prices can always move against it.
Frequently asked
What is the gold rate today in India?
24K gold is around ₹1,44,600 per 10g and 22K around ₹1,32,550 per 10g (indicative). Your final price depends on making charges, GST and AT Jewels' live counter rate at the time of billing.
What is the silver rate today?
Silver is about ₹2,35,000 per kg (indicative) today.
Will gold prices go up or down this week?
The near-term read is broadly sideways to firm. A firmer dollar and Fed-week caution are capping the top, while safe-haven demand and central-bank buying support the downside — so no one can promise a direction with certainty. Buy by your need rather than trying to predict the exact move.
